Load Combination / Limit State
The user may specify any number of load combinations, and each will be of a specific type, e.g. SLD-1 or Strength-2. CIP RC/PT Girder calculates the combined responses based on the load factors specified for each load type. The prestress load factor in all cases is 1.0. In the case of LRFD specifications, maximum and minimum load factors are used to maximize the final response.
Deflection | The combined deflections are calculated based on the summation of the individual deflection responses. |
Forces | The combined forces and moments at each POI are calculated based on the summation of individual responses. |
Stresses |
The combined stresses at each POI are calculated based on the combined forces and moments at the POI, using the cross section properties for the POI. This is performed by first calculating the forces and moments for the concrete portion only, and then calculating the stresses, and is equivalent to using transformed section properties. |
Reactions | The combined reactions at each POI are calculated based on the summation of individual responses. |
